Two Armed Robberies
On Monday October 5, 2008 at 8:30pm in the 4300 Block of Annunciation (6) B/M subjects armed with handguns approached two victims and
robbed them at gunpoint. The victims complied and their property was taken by two of the subjects. Only two descriptions were given. The
other four suspects could not be described. The subjects then fled.

On Monday October 5, 2008 at 8:50pm in the 600 Block of Austerlitz. The Victim exited her vehicle when the victim observed a silver medium
sized pickup stop and two subjects exited the vehicle. The suspects ran up to the victim produced a silver handgun and robbed the victim
at gunpoint.

Both incidents happened within 20 minutes of each other, the description of the suspects in both incidents are as follows-

Suspect Unknown Black Male 17 - 20 5'09" 180# Clothing, etc: White tee shirt, long dark pants, low fade haircut

Suspect Unknown Black Male 17 - 20 5'11" 180# Clothing, etc: white tee shirt, long dark pants, medium length dreds

Aggravated Battery by Cutting – 4320 Magazine

Thursday, August 21, 2008 4:30 AM the victim was inside Ms. Mae's bar at 4320 Magazine Street when he met a man that claimed to be Janez Gustavo.  Mr. Gustavo, who speaks little or no English, asked the Victim to help him get inside Ms. Mae's. As they entered, the Victim told the bouncer that Gustavo was with him and they entered the bar.
The two began drinking alcoholic beverages, Mr. Gustavo became very angry and was obnoxious and was ejected from the bar.  Once outside the perpetrator attempted to regain entry by pulling on the door, so the Victim exited and attempted to calm him down.  While outside the subject picked up a beer bottle smashed it then stabbed the Victim in the left side of his neck, chin and back.  The subject then began walking down Magazine Street to unknown.

EMS transported the victim to University Hospital where he was treated and released.

Clothing, etc: white bloody t-shirt, clean shaven, bald, muscular build

May 8, Email Blast

On May 8th at or about 12:55 pm, the victim was working on a residence located in the 3800 block of Constance Street. He heard a knock on the door. The door was then kicked open by a black male and a black female, who was armed with a handgun. The victim was robbed of about $10 in cash. Second District officers responded to the location and quickly apprehended the perpetrators. Officers arrested a KNOWN 16 YEAR OLD MALE and a KNOWN 16 YEAR OLD FEMALE. The handgun used by the suspects was recovered and learned to be a BB gun.

Suspects Arrested For Drugs and Weapons Violations

           New Orleans, LA - Today, members of the New Orleans Police Department’s Major Narcotics Unit arrested four males, and booked them with possession of firearms and narcotics.  The offense occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m., in the 3800 block of Constance Street.

Major Narcotic officers executed a search warrant at a home after surveillance was conducted for a period of time.  The officers entered the residence and confiscated approximately 126 grams of powder cocaine, 2 loaded AK-47 assault riffles and arrested four suspects.  One suspect arrested, Alton Ruth is a relative of the victim murdered on April 17, 2008 in the 700 block of Peniston Street.  A second suspect arrested, Raphael Stevenson had a house arrest ankle bracelet device attached to his ankle.                                                               

Arrested:                        17-year-old Johnathon Nions  of  4057 Chipwood Street (Marrero)  

Arrested:                         28-year-old Alton Ruth of 1017 Antoine Street

Arrested:                         18-year-old Raphael Stevenson of 2301 Loyola Street

Arrested:                         57-year-old Calvin Dominique of 3815 Constance Street

All four suspects were booked with possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute and possession of firearms with narcotics.

On April 17th at or about 5:00 pm, officers responded to a call of gunshots in the area of 700 Peniston Street. Upon arrival, officers found a 20 year old male lying in the 700 block of Peniston. The victim had been shot multiple times and was unresponsive. EMS later pronounced the victim dead. Investigators learned that the suspects apparently opened fire on the victim near the corner of Laurel Street. The victim ran about ½ block before collapsing. The suspect(s) fled in a dark colored SUV type vehicle.

On Friday, April 4, 2008, Second District plainclothes officers affected the arrest of Jonathan Nions (BM 2-27-91) and Bryant Langston (BM 9-4-90), from the 3800 block of Constance Street.  Nions was charged with PWITD Crack Cocaine.  He was in possession of approx. 10 pieces of crack cocaine that had been packaged for distribution and over $100.00 in United States currency.  Langston was charged with PWITD Marijuana.  He was in possession of approx. one ounce of marijuana and over $1000.00 in United States currency.  Both males were utilizing the area in and around the front of 3810 / 3812 Constance Street for their enterprise.

On Friday, March 7th Narcotics Detectives along with Probation and Parole Agents, conducted a “probation” check at 4012 Annunciation Street – the residence on file for Comeese Mimitte (BM, 4/11/89).  Mimitte was on probation for a previous drug violation.  During the probation check agents recovered over 40 grams of crack cocaine, 60+ grams of marijuana, and a .25 caliber handgun.  Mimitte was arrested for the probation violation and the additional narcotics and weapon violations. Over the weekend, 2nd District officers made several more narcotics arrests in the area of 3800 Annunciation Street. After being released by Juvenile Court, officers re-arrested one of the 16 year old juveniles listed below. The subject was back on the street dealing drugs. Also arrested for possession of crack cocaine was one Guy McEwen (BM, 4/16/87), residing at 3500 Garden Oaks Drive.

February 25, 2008 Email Blast

After receiving several complaints about the 700 block of Peniston Street; 2nd District officers responded to the area. Over the course of several days, plainclothes officers made several significant arrests. They are as follows:
 

Johnquell Bibbins

*       Johnquell Bibbins (B/M 5-6-1980; residing at 3809 Tchoupitoulas), was found to be in possession of two handguns and a considerable amount of marijuana. He was arrested by officers. (Pic Attached)

Franklin Lewis

*       Franklin Lewis (B/M, 8/24/1988; residing at 7204 Constance), was found to be in possession of marijuana. He was arrested by officers. (Pic Attached)

*       KNOWN 16 year old, was found to be in possession of MDMA (Ecstacy). He was arrested by officers and taken to the Juvenile Bureau.

It should also be noted that officers confiscated an assault rifle, although no arrests were made in conjunction with that weapon.
